Whiskey Sour Recipe
Whisky • Lemon • Sugar Syrup. Aged whisky shaken with fresh lemon citrus and simple syrup. Serves 1, in a rocks glass.
Ingredients
- 60 ml whisky
- 25 ml lemon juice
- 20 ml sugar syrup
- ice
Method
- Shake all ingredients hard with ice.
- Strain over fresh ice.
- Taste and adjust the sweetness if needed.
Serving tip
Garnish with a lemon wheel and a cherry. Squeeze the lemon fresh for each round.
Prep ahead and variations
Measure the spirit with a jigger, chill the glasses and cut garnishes shortly before service. Juices, purees and syrups can be measured and chilled a few hours ahead, which keeps service quick. Fresh garnishes should look bright, and clean, plentiful ice is the quiet hero of every glass. Taste before serving and adjust sweetness or acidity to suit the day, because fruit varies by season. Variation: Serve it over one large ice cube so it stays chilled and dilutes slowly.
