Margarita Recipe
Tequila • Triple Sec • Lime. Blanco Tequila, orange Triple Sec liqueur, and fresh lime with sea salt rim. Serves 1, in a rocks glass.
Ingredients
- 50 ml tequila
- 25 ml triple sec
- 25 ml lime juice
- sea salt for the rim
- ice
Method
- Rim the glass with lime and sea salt.
- Shake tequila, triple sec and lime with ice.
- Strain over fresh ice.
Serving tip
Garnish with a lime wheel. Salt only the outer edge of the rim.
Prep ahead and variations
Measure the spirit with a jigger, chill the glasses and cut garnishes shortly before service. Juices, purees and syrups can be measured and chilled a few hours ahead, which keeps service quick. Fresh garnishes should look bright, and clean, plentiful ice is the quiet hero of every glass. Taste before serving and adjust sweetness or acidity to suit the day, because fruit varies by season. Variation: Rim only half the glass so guests can choose whether to taste salt.
