Bartenders: Meet the Certified Team at CASK & Co.
A beautiful counter is only half of a bar. The other half is the person behind it. Here is how our bartenders are trained, how they work together and what you can expect from them on the day.
Training and background
Our bartenders are permanent members of the team, not casual hires. Most hold a Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, a diploma in bartending and flairing, or both, and they have been certified by reputed academies. The team has worked in Kerala and in countries such as Singapore.
Qualifications matter because they teach the basics that are easy to skip: hygiene, measuring, timing, glassware and guest handling.
Roles at the counter
- The lead bartender plans the service, checks the menu and sets the pace.
- Service bartenders pour, garnish and keep the queue moving.
- Flair bartenders perform live behind the counter when flair is part of the plan.
- Support staff handle ice, glass collection and restocking, so the bartenders stay behind the counter.
Speed without sloppiness
At a busy reception, speed matters, but accuracy matters more. A guest who waits five minutes for a perfect drink is happier than one who gets a rushed, unbalanced one in two. Our bartenders measure, taste and garnish consistently, and an 18-foot counter gives several of them room to work side by side.
Responsible service
We serve alcohol under Kerala's rules. No alcohol is served to anyone under 23, and our bartenders can ask for age proof when in doubt. They watch the pace of the evening, offer water and mocktails alongside cocktails and may politely decline service to a guest who has had enough.
This protects your guests, your family and your venue, and it is part of why hosts trust us. Our compliance post explains the legal background.
Etiquette at the counter
Good bartending is also good hospitality. Our bartenders greet each guest, listen to the order and offer a suggestion if the guest is unsure. They keep the counter tidy, never leave a guest waiting without acknowledging them and treat every request, including a simple glass of water, with the same courtesy.
How many bartenders do you need?
The answer depends on the guest count, the menu and the length of the rush. A small gathering can be served comfortably by one or two, while a large reception needs more hands. We recommend staffing for the busiest hour rather than the average one, and we state the numbers clearly in the quote.
What happens on the day
The team arrives early, assembles the counter, prepares mixers and garnishes and tests every drink. During the event, bartenders rotate between pouring and prepping so the pace stays steady. When service ends, they clear the counter, pack the glassware and leave the venue as they found it.
